Friday, February 23rd- Happy Friday!! We continued learning about the letter K by finding it and "swatting" it on our classroom rug and by tracing over dotted Ks on the dry erase boards. We also made the letter K using our bodies. They also tried making some on their own. Since it's not an easy letter to write, I suggest having your child practice at home. You can start by having them trace some dotted Ks, and then have them try writing their own.
We also decorated a paper shamrock with different colors of green tissue paper to get ready for St. Patrick's Day.
We watched our shapes videos on the computer and used watercolor paint to paint different hearts.

Please check out the class photos page for some new pictures!!

There are a few children who are still unsure how to spell their names. I recommend that you review and practice your child's name with them at home each night if possible. You can always make dotted names and have them trace it as well. That is also good practice for them.

I suggest the children practice putting on their jacket at home. We have many children who are still struggling to put their jacket on by themselves. Especially in the winter when we have to put on jackets, hats etc., it would really be helpful if the children could do it themselves. Learning to zipper can come later, for now just putting the jacket on would be helpful. Also, please have your child wear mittens, and not gloves, to school. Again, it is much easier when getting everyone ready for dismissal and some children can even put them on without help. I truly appreciate your cooperation!

You should check out the Corpus Christi Facebook page. I try to put up pictures as often as I can, especially when we are doing something extra special!
